New Booking Service In Timeshare Rentals

Sell My Timeshare NOW is making it easier than ever to book affordable timeshare rental vacations. Already the global leader in timeshare resales and timeshare rentals, Sell My Timeshare NOW has added a user-friendly, real time feature to its website, enabling consumers to select timeshare rentals from available dates and locations and then “Book It NOW” for their next vacation.

Company CEO Jason Tremblay explains, “Timeshare rentals have always offered the best opportunities in vacation accommodations. With our exclusive ‘Book It NOW’ feature, a timeshare rental can be booked online with the same ease people are accustomed to when making airline reservations.” Tremblay adds that Sell My Timeshare NOW is the only timeshare resale and timeshare rental advertising company to offer this service. “Real time reservations, the luxury and spaciousness of a timeshare unit, and the amazing savings found in timeshare rentals make ‘Book It NOW’ the breakthrough vacation solution that hardworking people need and deserve.”

Sell My Timeshare NOW, recently mentioned in TIME Magazine, has seen timeshare rental offers increase dramatically in 2009. During the first quarter of this year, the number of offers received through the company for timeshare rentals increased by 146 percent over those made in the first quarter of 2008. Quarter-over-quarter, the dollar amount of rental offers through Sell My Timeshare NOW increased by 125 percent, reaching nearly $35 million.

The company’s website, www.sellmytimesharenow.com, has three different ways for vacationers to enjoy the affordable luxury of a timeshare rental. They can search the “Book It NOW” properties and book and confirm a timeshare rental reservation online or search the company’s full inventory of timeshares rentals and then contact the timeshare owner directly to negotiate a best-price rental rate. The third approach is to take advantage of Rental Assist by Sell My Timeshare NOW and let a vacation specialist find the rental property to fit the renter’s vacation needs and preferences.

SellMyTimeshareNOW.com is the flagship website for Sell My Timeshare NOW and offers internet advertising and marketing solutions and success-based timeshare brokerage services for timeshare owners, timeshare buyers, or renters. In 2008, Sell My Timeshare NOW was recognized by Inc.com as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in America.

Dear Mr. President, Americans Need A FAMILY Stimulus Plan

Nearly Half of Recent Survey Respondents Feel Time with Their Families Lacking

While Americans patiently wait for the country’s economic stimulus plan to take effect, it’s clear that a separate plan is needed to spur recovery in another area – the amount of time enjoyed with family. The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) recently surveyed visitors to its VacationBetter.org website to determine if they have enough quality time with their immediate and extended families. Nearly half of the respondents felt quality time spent with the family was lacking and a stimulus plan was the solution.

“Unfortunately vacation is one of the first things people give up when times get tough economically, and with that goes some of the best quality time you can get with your family,” said Howard Nusbaum, ARDA president and CEO. “Tough times are when people need connect to their families even more, and it can be done very economically.”

In hopes of counteracting the failing tradition of quality family time, ARDA has created the Family Stimulus Plan. As part of this package, ARDA is providing tips and suggestions on how to take time away to renew and rejuvenate with the family on its VacationBetter.org consumer information website. “The Family Stimulus Plan”, provides travelers with helpful hints on planning a successful family vacation with either your immediate family or an extended family reunion. It contains event-planning tips, including managing invitations, selecting a location, ice-breaker games, decorations and ways to stay in touch all year long.
Another way to stimulate your interest in a family vacation is to hear from the health and wellness experts. It’s a proven fact that people who spend time away reap health benefits far beyond that week or two of vacation. Vacations are not a luxury, but a necessity for good health and well-being.

Owning your vacation with timeshare has shown to be a sure-fire way of guaranteeing that you won’t find excuses not to vacation and in fact, will reap all of the benefits of having pre-paid your vacation – quality resorts, family-friendly accommodations and regular getaways. In fact, according to an ARDA study, timeshare properties are experiencing an 82 percent occupancy rate despite tough economic times.
As we all focus on the economic stimulus, ARDA encourages us to remember an even more important plan we can enact on our own — The Family Stimulus Plan. To download a customizable package, visit www.VacationBetter.org/Family-Stimulus-Plan.

About VacationBetter.org
The American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) new on-line resource informs consumers on the importance of taking a vacation and the overall benefits of enjoying one – regularly – through shared vacation ownership. VacationBetter.org is a comprehensive, educational tool for consumers to learn about this travel option and to demonstrate a way for travelers to vacation better.

About ARDA
The American Resort Development Association is the Washington D.C.-based professional association representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas to Open Later This Year

PHUKET, THAILANDOutrigger Enterprises Group announced today that it has been selected to manage a new luxury collection of residences, villas, town homes and apartments being developed by Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited in Laguna Phuket, located on Bang Tao Bay on the northwestern coast of Phuket, Thailand. The new collection will be named “Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas”. When fully built out, it will consist of 309 two-, three- and four-bedroom units, many with their own private swimming pools. The first units will be ready for occupancy in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Laguna Phuket, widely recognized as Asia’s finest destination resort, is a 1,000 acre mixed-use tropical resort with five miles of pristine sandy beaches, six deluxe resort hotels (Banyan Tree Phuket, Sheraton Grande Laguna, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Laguna Beach Resort, Allamanda Laguna Phuket, Laguna Holiday Club Resort), the Laguna Phuket Golf Club, spas, restaurants and bars as well as a retail shopping center. Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited, a public company listed on the Thai stock exchange, developed the Laguna Phuket Resort starting in the mid 1980s from the remains of an abandoned tin mine once thought to be too polluted to develop. Laguna Phuket has since won numerous environmental awards as a result of that successful effort.

“We are excited to work with Laguna Resorts on this great new luxury product that they are building in the prestigious Laguna Phuket destination resort,” said David Carey, president and CEO of Outrigger Enterprises Group. “Laguna Phuket has such a well-deserved reputation as a quality resort and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”

“We welcome the Outrigger brand and their expertise in villa and condominium management,” said Michael Ayling, managing director of Laguna Resorts & Hotels Plc. “We’re delighted to announce the opening of Laguna Phuket’s seventh resort, Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas. We’re positive that Laguna Phuket will greatly benefit from Outrigger’s quality management services of Laguna Village.”

Approximately one-half of the 309 units have been completed, with the remaining units scheduled for completion in 2011. Amenities at the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas will include a beach club, private clubhouse, fitness center, tennis courts, an Angsana spa, as well as retail shops and restaurants.

Phuket is one of Asia’s most popular beach destinations, offering an unbeatable combination of soft, white sand beaches and superb hospitality. It was named the number one luxury destination by the New York Times in January 2009 (http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/01/11/travel/11phuket.html) and is consistently voted among the world’s favorite island destinations in the prestigious Travel + Leisure magazine’s annual survey. Phuket is serviced by the Phuket International Airport, which is the second busiest passenger airport in Thailand, behind only Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Since the early 1980s, tourism has been Phuket’s main economic driver. Whether it is world class diving in the Andaman Sea, golf at world-standard championship courses or exciting eco-adventures in tropical forests, Phuket is a favorite visitor destination.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas will be our third property in Phuket, in addition to the Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort in Chalong Bay along the quiet southeastern coast of Phuket and the Outrigger West Sands Resort on Mai Khao Beach in northwestern Phuket,” said Mr. Carey. “Phuket and Bali are the top leisure resort destinations in Asia and we now have five resorts open or under development in those two locations.”

In three short years, Outrigger has grown its presence in Southeast Asia to include the five resorts in Phuket and Bali, as well as properties in Hainan Island, China and Vietnam. “The Outrigger brand is synonymous with warm weather, beachfront, leisure resort destinations,” said Darren Edmonstone, senior vice president - Asia of Outrigger Enterprises Group. “We are searching out the best resort destinations in Southeast Asia for our brand.”

Venice On Water Has Arrived

Click Here To Request Information Pack

MAP Destinations, one of Europe’s leading vacation ownership marketing companies has embarked on its first development project which it is preparing to launch in the coming weeks. Venice on Water, which has been described as “one of the most unusual timeshare properties yet” by RCI, is about to set sail in Venice - Italy’s most celebrated province.

The project is based around a small fleet of custom-built luxury houseboats that will be moored in a strategic and central location within very close proximity of the iconic city of Venice. Apart from offering an innovative and easy way of cruising on the most famous lagoon in Europe, these houseboats also enable members to enjoy a luxurious boating lifestyle without needing to find the capital, maintenance and management costs to support full-time boat ownership. The first of 10 vessels which has been purpose-built in Malta shall be unveiled in June 2009, according to MAP Destinations Managing Director Mary Anne Pulé. For her, Venice on Water represents a long-held ambition to do her own thing and she was spurred on by what she sees as the lack of new timeshare developments in Europe.

This first houseboat shall be moored at the marina Darsena DEC which is only 5km away from the Venice city centre and offers guests various services and facilities including water and electricity supply and protection from winds and tides. The houseboats, measuring ten by three and a half metres, can accommodate up to six guests and are easy to manoeuvre and handle with no licence or experience required. Anyone wanting to jump aboard can hire their own skipper for an extra fee or can opt to learn the ropes in a couple of hours.

According to Mary Anne Pulé - “if a member can clearly pilot the boat and establish themselves as a good skipper, there is no reason why they can’t go further afield to explore the rivers of Italy. But for those wanting to stay in Venice, there’s lots to do. There’s the Lido and plenty of islands. We’re also planning to provide 25 itineraries to make it easier for members to plan their routes”.

Don’t Let Your Summer Vacation Be Threatened by ‘Guilty Vacation Syndrome’

Study Shows 90 Percent of People Have It, New Malady Can Be Cured

The symptoms often go undetected. They are mistaken for other, less serious ailments. But thanks to a new initiative conducted by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), more people are getting treatment for their Guilty Vacation Syndrome (GVS). They are learning to embrace vacation — with no second-guessing, stress or guilt.

According to a recent survey conducted on ARDA’s consumer Web site, VacationBetter.org, ninety percent of people are not taking or are delaying their summer vacation this year because they feel guilty about it. With the negative economic news every day and companies cutting back on people and programs, many feel that despite wanting a vacation, they shouldn’t take one.

“We always take two weeks at the beach each year to refresh and rejuvenate,” says Pete J., a GVS sufferer. “This year we’ve decided to cut back since we don’t want to appear insensitive to the economic situation.”

Symptoms include misplaced emotions, indecisiveness and sadness.

“People with ‘Guilty Vacation Syndrome’ must put their health first,” said Howard Nusbaum, ARDA president and CEO. “There has been substantial research affirming the physical and mental benefits for taking time to get away and recharge. And in stressful times like these, it’s even more important.”

According to ARDA, there are several remedies for GVS. First, realize that vacations are a necessity and not a luxury. Second, commit to an annual vacation — a recipe for stronger ties with families and friends, less stress and better health. And lastly, learn from those that have never suffered from this malady; timeshare owners have continued to make vacations a priority despite tough economic times.

“We have always believed in taking time to vacation. That is why we bought our timeshares more than 10 years ago and have added several weeks since,” said Kathy and Rich V., guiltless vacationers. “With the stresses of today’s world, it’s even more important to take the family and get away from it all to spend some quality time together. Having pre-purchased our annual timeshare weeks in a fabulous location or being able to trade to other great locations makes it a no-brainer. Even if we need to spend some time while vacationing to check emails or take a call or two from the office, it is different when you are away from it all. We don’t apologize for taking time out to relax and recharge, and we encourage others to do the same.”

It’s proven that one to two weeks away from the daily routine leads to better job performance and productivity, perhaps helping to make your job even more secure when you return to it.

For more information on recovering from GVS, please visit VacationBetter.org
