Sultanate Of Oman Opens Its Doors To British Tourism
“Oman’s capital enchants visitors in a way that no other city in the Gulf can even begin to match” – Lonely Planet
Every month UK residents will have the chance to win a holiday package to Muscat, Oman’s capital and gateway city in a six-month, online contest courtesy of Oman’s Ministry of Tourism and its national carrier, Oman Air.
Winners of the monthly draw, which was launched on 15 November, will receive return flights to Muscat from London, along with four night’s shared accommodation for two in a 5-star hotel, inclusive of all hotel taxes and service charges.
To take part, all holidaymakers have to do is go to www.holidayinoman.com and answer a series of five easy questions. The contest is free to enter for all UK residents.
Oman Air is also investing in advertising to raise awareness of this once in a lifetime offer. Ads will be placed in key national titles such as The Times, The Observer, The Guardian, The Metro and The Mail and The Telegraph travel sections, key London titles and Classic FM, amongst others.
As part of its high impact campaign, the company has also commissioned 48 sheets at train stations, and advertising on buses and taxis.
This big budget campaign aims to boost the number of tourists from the UK and Europe, and this competition mechanism will treat winners to Oman’s rich history, and an unforgettable experience in what is considered the jewel of the Arabian Gulf.
Boasting dramatic scenery, a rich culture and a wealth of historical sites, as well as beautiful beaches, world class hotels and fabulous shopping opportunities, the Sultanate of Oman is fast becoming the hottest holiday destination in the Arabian Gulf for those that want to experience the real Arabia.
The capital, Muscat, is a must see. Its blend of the ancient and modern, and its legendary markets – called Souqs – ensure that the city offers fantastic opportunities for tourists to explore and get to know Oman, before venturing further afield to a variety of sites which can be tailored to the trip of a lifetime.
The Sultanate of Oman is located in the south-eastern shores of Arabia and covers 3,098,500 sq. km. It is flanked to the north-west by the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the west and the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen to the south-west.
