Oceans Of Luxury

Typically, resort accommodation is thought of in terms of land-based locations and amenities, but writes Sarah Lee, Club La Costa is making waves with its latest luxury lifestyle innovation
How many of us dream of living a millionaire lifestyle, sailing from coast to coast aboard a luxury yacht? The mere idea of setting sail for a week or two seems a wonderful indulgence, but the costs of owning, maintaining and
mooring a yacht are prohibitively expensive for the majority of us dreamers.

Not anymore however. Timeshare giant, Club La Costa, is making the dream of a life of luxury afloat a reality with its
latest development.
The Club La Costa Yacht Club offers its members the chance to enjoy the wonderful world of yachting – without the responsibilities or price tag that come with whole ownership. A 12-year club membership – available on five different levels ranging from a Sailing Week in one cabin every other year, to fourcabins or the whole yacht every year – gives members the best opportunity to experience the romance and adventure of being yacht owners for as little or as long a sailing period as they want.
Because the Club La Costa Yacht Club is affiliated to RCI, its members can choose to become RCI members which will enable them to trade in their sea legs for an exchange holiday at one of the 4,000 resorts worldwide which are affiliated to RCI and offer the greatest diversity of properties, destinations and exciting holiday experiences.
Delivering a truly luxurious lifestyle, together with a quality service, the Club la Costa Yacht Club makes an expertly-crewed fleet of 60-foot custom-fitted, fully air-conditioned catamarans with four en-suite double cabins
available to its members. The catamaran’s salons include a dining area for ten people, a lounge with plasma screen televisions and DVD players and of course a chart table. The yachts also feature large, comfortable cockpits, an outdoor dining area for ten, well-stocked bars, a sunbathing deck and an outdoor freshwater shower. Your crew
will include your own personal chef and, as co-owner, you set the course and tell the crew which ports of call you want to visit along the way.
The vessels take advantage of summer and winter-sun opportunities, sailing out of ports in Turkey and the Red Sea along some of the most beautiful beaches. Never short of things to enjoy, club members can explore hidden coves, or relax gazing up at the billowing white sails, dreaming up the day’s itinerary or lending the crew a hand before dropping anchor to slip off into a sleek marina for cocktails or onto a deserted beach for a barbeque under the stars.
The yachts offer an all-inclusive package covering food, drinks, linen, towels and onboard equipment. So aside from sailing to a host of beautiful locations, the professional crew will also cook and serve you from a delicious menu of meals, snacks and drinks. You will also be able to set the course and decide which ports of call you wish to visit
during the sail.

Water sports available include free scubadiving, snorkelling, water-skiing, wakeboarding, deep-sea fishing, sea kayaking and windsurfing for experienced windsurfers. But if that feels like far too much effort and you just want to kick back and relax, the catamarans have hammocks and floating foam mattresses where you can read a book
or watch the world float by.
In the evening cocktails are served as the sun dips below the horizon and the welcoming aroma of dinner drifts on the evening air, as you prepare for dinner under a starry moonlit sky.
The club’s five levels of membership available are Sand, Shell, Coral, Jade and Pearl. These allow members a maximum of four weeks sailing a year or a minimum of one week every other year. Certain memberships also allow
the flexibility to book late or to take advantage of priority booking and exchanges into Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels. And members can increase their level of membership at any time to enjoy more benefits and more sailing.
The Club La Costa Yacht Club is owned, managed and operated by Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels, which has been offering quality shared-ownership resorts since 1984 and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. It’s the largest developer in Europe with over 50,000 members and 23 resorts.
Club La Costa has been working with RCI since 1986 and the two companies have enjoyed a strong relationship. Today the majority of Club La Costa timeshare developments, including Club La Costa Vacation Club, an enhanced Points-based product, are affiliated to RCI.
Roy Peires, Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels’ chairman said: “Ever since our first affiliation many of our members have enjoyed exchanges through RCI and Club La Costa Vacation Club makes every effort to optimise RCI’s expertise in this area.”
RCI managing director Jonathan Back said: “Club La Costa is not only one of the longest established vacation-ownership companies in Europe, it’s one of the industry’s greatest innovators, with landmark projects including the
Club La Costa Yacht Club. We are honoured that they have chosen RCI as their exchange provider of choice for the thousands of Club La Costa Vacation Club members across the world.”
The Club La Costa Yacht Club is an innovation in timeshare and, with its affiliation to RCI, offers a whole world of great holiday choices, so it’s definitely a case of ‘bon voyage’ for its fortunate members.
Sail away with Club La Costa Yacht Club
Charters can take you to:
Turkey
Sail around the Gulf of Gokova, off the south west coast of Turkey – taking in Turgutreis. Its clear blue waters form a beautiful backdrop to the scattered Greek and Turkish islands in this region. Here you’ll find incredible snorkelling and picturesque places to drop anchor and absorb the other-worldly atmosphere that pervades. It is a place to slow down and enjoy pretty coves and bays.
The Red Sea
A natural border between Asia and Africa while being surrounded by desert landscapes with spectacularly sheer mountains, the Red Sea is the world’s most northern tropical sea. It is enriched with an abundance of unique marine life, some of it unseen anywhere else.
In the coral gardens of Jordan you can spy rare black coral and huge Gorgonian sea fans. In Eilat, Israel you can visit sites such as Coral Beach national park and the Japanese Gardens, while Egypt’s Coral or Pharaoh Island national park offers some of the best diving in the world with groupers, eels, napoleon wrasse, angel fish, butterfly fish, parrot fish, frog fish and turtles making a regular appearance among the region’s shipwrecks.
The clarity of the water in the Red Sea means most sea life can be viewed from the surface and so it offers fantastic experiences for snorkelers as well as divers.
From the deck you can take in Bedouin life in the Sinai Desert, while trips to Aqaba and Eilat are ideal for
enjoying the shopping and nightlife.
