Introducing The Best New Address In Breckenridge, Colorado
May 28, 2008 by Owners Perspective (Fractional Ownership & Timeshare Consumer Magazine) ·
Breckenridge, CO – Breckenridge Grand Vacations, the development company of the award-winning Grand Timber Lodge and Gold Point Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado is currently building its newest and most luxurious resort to date, the Grand Lodge on Peak 7. The first shovels were turned in May of 2007, and the concrete foundations as well as many steel structures are now visible from various areas within the town limits. Construction costs are expected to reach $95 million at the completion of this truly distinct vacation ownership property.

The family-owned and operated development company prides itself on being a four-time winner of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) Gold ARDY Award in the Project Team category, and the company has been recognized as one of the most successful independent developers in the timeshare industry. “When we began the development process of the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, our goal was to build the finest timeshare resort in the Colorado Rockies. By combining our 25 years of experience in the resort development business in Breckenridge with invaluable input from our owners at both Gold Point Resort and Grand Timber Lodge, we believe the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will exceed the expectations of up and coming vacationing families,” stated Mike Millisor, company President and longtime Breckenridge resident.

About The Resort
The town of Breckenridge, located 85 miles west of Denver, stands as one of the country’s top ski destinations. While Breckenridge was established as a mining town in 1859, “white gold” – or snow drives the present economic engine. The Breckenridge Ski Area opened in 1961 and was the most visited ski resort in the USA during the 2006-2007 season.

What was once a small, nearly abandoned mining town with a population of 400 in 1960 gradually built itself up to a booming mountain retreat with 3,200 permanent residents who have succeeded in building life-long careers and active lifestyles around the resort and leisure industry. These locals are known for being friendly and highly involved in the community, making this tourist destination feel more like a real town than other purpose-built resorts. The developers of the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 are striving to be the employer of choice in the area and currently employ over 250 locals. The common goal and motto of the company is to create great vacations for their guests.

Creating great vacations will become even easier with the development of this incredibly situated new resort. Located literally on Peak 7 of the Breckenridge Ski Area, the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 offers a ski-in/skiout experience never seen before in Breckenridge. Mike Dudick, Vice President of Marketing, said “We believe the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will become Colorado’s most exciting new mountain address. Guests will literally be steps from the Independence SuperChair with easy access to the ski area’s 2,200+ acres of terrain.” Additionally, guests and owners at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 have direct access to Main Street Breckenridge via the seasonal BreckConnect gondola or year round via the resort’s free shuttle service.

The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will offer 114 two-bedroom, lock-off timeshare condominiums that can be segmented into various sizes ranging from one bedroom suites to four-bedroom residences that can sleep up to sixteen people. Ownership is available in weekly increments from one to ten or more weeks and will feature fixed weeks, floating weeks, and a custom-designed points program for internal exchanges.

Of course, being vacation ownership, owners can choose to use their week in Breckenridge or exchange their time to one of 2,200 resorts through the Interval International network of resorts to which it belongs. Additionally, owners can use just part of their unit and lock off the other portion of their unit to be used for an exchange – essentially doubling their ownership.

The resort will also be home to the best amenities ever seen to date in Breckenridge. Soothe Day Spa will offer signature spa treatments, fitness classes, work out facility and a grotto style hot tub and relaxation area. The on-site restaurant will be operated by Vail Resorts, Inc and will serve fare ranging from wood-oven pizzas, to pastas and salads. The grand lobby will provide an exquisite après-ski atmosphere with its three-story mossrock fireplace, piano bar, and library.

Lastly, the resort extends its family friendly theme with a separate and dedicated family game area. The property will also feature many high demand amenities such as multiple indoor/outdoor pools and several landscape-inspired hot tubs.

Timeless Elegance
With all things considered, the name of the upcoming resort reflects its projected atmosphere. Indeed, everything feels “grand” in this iconic resort masterpiece. Massive moss-rock columns, heavy timber accents, and soaring windows frame the stunning views of the Ten-Mile Range and Baldy Mountain. The entrance to the resort will boast a water feature that will welcome guests into the grand lobby while plush sofas and rich wool area rugs invite guests to enjoy the serenity of the Rocky Mountains.

“Natural materials grace the architecture and the finishes will evoke a sense of timeless elegance in a casual, mountain lodge setting. Soft, careworn fabrics, distressed leather, mismatched woods and granite slab counters evoke a sense of unpretentious yet supremely comfortable luxury,” said Tracey Egolf, of Egolf Interiors, Inc. who has directed the feel of the resort’s décor.

The rooms are appointed with wide screen LCD televisions and are equipped with wireless internet access. Premium-quality mattresses, high thread count linens, and luxuriously soft duvets are standard issue. From the infrastructure of the massive buildings to the small details found in each room, the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 reaches above most other resort experiences currently found in Breckenridge.

While every detail for comfort and convenience has not been overlooked in the creation of this incredible new resort, neither has the environment. The resort is being built with a solid dedication to environmentally friendly construction. While the developers pride themselves on presenting a resort boasting the highest grandeur within the area, they are equally dedicated to taking part in the ecological maintenance of the surrounding community.

This dedication can be seen in multiple facets throughout the resort design. The character of the decorative lighting is upscale and sophisticated, using amber glass and hand-forged iron work, yet it efficiently utilizes “green” fluorescent bulbs in order to save energy. In addition, decorative accents are primarily made of recycled materials that are blended in the fibers of the carpets and fabrics; formaldehyde-free and no VOC emitting adhesives are used in the wood veneers and their substrates; appliances have upgraded stainless
steel finishes yet meet EnergyStar ratings; heating and lighting systems are on centralized computer controls so that unoccupied spaces are not needlessly heated or lighted. All are investments in the creation of an eco-friendly mountain resort that will meet the needs of the environment and tourists for years to come.

While the pinnacle of mountain luxury, the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will also be an affordable choice in the real estate market. Real estate prices in Summit County have continued to defy the housing slump other parts of the Colorado front-range and nation have been experiencing. As of August 31, 2007, the overall number of sales in the county has increased 24% from August 2006; the average value of a single family home in Summit County is $780,354. The lodge is located near a few other ski-in/ski-out whole ownership properties that have sold for $900-$1,300 per square foot. The price of one week of ownership at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will range from $25,000-$175,000 depending on season, unit size, and usage options.

Being a vacation ownership property, owners can purchase as much or as little time they wish to use. Whether they purchase two weeks or ten, owners will experience all the benefits of owning in this amazing location without the hassle or expense of whole ownership. Of course, guests and tourists are more than welcome to book reservations in the new lodge without purchasing a week of timeshare ownership. Depending on the season and room size, guests can reserve units for prices ranging from $135/night to $1550/night.

The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is scheduled to open for occupancy during the 2008/2009 ski season. If you are interested in learning more about the value of vacation ownership at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, please call 888-783-8883 ext. 3088 or visit www.GrandLodgeonPeak7.com
