Highest Honour For Lennoxlove House

Lennoxlove House, one of Scotland’s premier historic country homes, has been awarded the highest accolade in Scotland’s tourism industry – a five-star rating as an exclusive use venue.

The five-star grading system set by VisitScotland recognises the quality of customer care, range of facilities, levels of hospitality and service as well as presentation. Five-stars is classed as exceptional.  Assessors particularly noted that the House was ‘full of history’ and that the ‘displays of family artefacts, art collection and priceless pieces of furniture’  gave the house a distinctive element; while bedrooms and suites had been refurbished to a universally ‘high standard’.

The 700-year old Lennoxlove House re-opened last summer after an extensive restoration project to transform what was once the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton into a unique venue for private stay, corporate events and weddings. The undertaking, which lasted 18 months, included much needed repairs to the fabric of the building as well as a sensitive refurbishment of the interiors. Many period features were restored , including décor originally designed by John Fowler and Sir Robert Lorimer, while modern luxury was added through the creation of nine very individual suites.
